- C. William "Bill" Wuest, 73 of
Murphysboro died at 4:30 pm Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Barnes Jewish
Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Bill was born in Murphysboro, August 17, 1934
a son to the late Clarence W. Sr. and Henrietta M. (Karl) Wuest. He
married Ann Shirley MacKeigan December 27, 1961, in Nova Scotia, she
survives of Murphysboro.
- Bill was a U.S. Army veteran and a
member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, the American
Legion Paul Stout Post 127 Murphysboro and Murphysboro Elks Lodge 572.
Bill owned and operated Wuest Real Estate and Insurance agency in
Murphysboro for 35 years.
- A funeral mass will be held at 10 am
Thursday, February 7, 2008 at St. Andrew Church in Murphysboro, burial
will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery in Murphysboro, with military
graveside rites by the American Legion Paul Stout Post 127 Murphysboro,
V.F.W. Post 7190 of Murphysboro and V.F.W. Post 2605 Carbondale, and the
Jackson County Disabled American Veterans Chapter 69. Visitation will be
Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro; the
rosary will be said at 4:45 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials
are encouraged and may be made to the St. Andrew School or to the
American Diabetes Association.
- Survivors include his wife Ann of
Murphysboro, one daughter; Cathy Wuest of St. Charles, MO., three sons;
Joseph Wuest of Roxana, IL., Frank Wuest of Hickory, NC., and John Wuest
of Murphysboro. Nine grandchildren; Chris Purcell, Jared, Joseph, Danny,
MacKeigan, Morgan, Stephen, Jackson, and Johnston Wuest. One brother;
James O. Wuest of Murphysboro, three sisters; Loretta Varner of
Murphysboro, Judy Heininger of Swansea, IL., and Dorothy R. Timmons of
Shiloh, IL., In addition to his parents he was preceded by two sons;
Daryl and Michael Wuest, and three sisters; Betty Pavey, Frances M.
Burdess and Margaret A. Rabe.
