Mildred Worthen, 83 of Grand Tower, died at home at 11:30 pm
on Tuesday, August 16, 2005.   Mildred was born in Jackson County, IL., on
November 21, 1921 the daughter of the late Monroe James and Nora Evelyn
(Clutts) Derossett. She married Clarence Worthen in Jackson, MO on October
5, 1940; he preceded her in death on August 21, 2003.  Mildred was a
Christian by faith and a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 19, 2005 at
Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, the Rev. Larry Worthen will
officiate.  Burial will follow at Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower.
Visitation will be on Thursday after 5:00 pm at Crawshaw Funeral Home in
Murphysboro.  
Survivors include two daughters and one son in law; Darlene Bludworth of
Desoto, Il, and Jeanne and Jerry Kraft of Waynesville, MO., one sister;
Mary Alice Derossett of Grand Tower, Il., two brothers; Kenneth Ray
Derossett of Titusville, FL., and James Monroe Derossett of Granite City,
IL., four grand daughters; Andrea (Bruce) Anderson of Anna, IL. Amanda
Lawrence of Desoto, IL. Kim (Kirk) Keene of Anna, IL. Missie (Lance)
Stratton of Manheim, Germany, two grand sons; Brian (Ginger) Kraft of
Hawaii, and Michael (Sara) Kraft of St. Louis, MO, Eleven great grand
children also survive. In addition to her parents and husband she was also
preceded in death by one son; Ronnie Dean Worthen on January 3, 1949, one
sister; Pauline Cavaness, and two brothers; Chuck and Paul Derossett.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted
at the funeral home.
