Billie Mae Wesley, 85 of Carbondale and
formerly of Vergennes died at 10:20am on Sunday, August 7, 2011 in
Carbondale. Billie was born July 11, 1926 in Vergennes a daughter to
the late Will and Beulah (Brown) Nehring. Billie was united in marriage
to Samuel Howard Wesley on May 27, 1949 in Lawrenceville, IL. Howard
preceded her in death on March 2, 1993. Billie was a member of the
Wesley United Methodist Church in Vergennes; she was a retired School
Teacher having taught in the public school systems in DuQuoin and
Murphysboro, she was also a member of Jackson County Home Extension
Somerset Unit.
Funeral services will be at 1pm on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at
Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Rev. Larry Gilbert will officiate.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 noon to the
hour of services. Private burial services will be in Murdale Gardens of
Memory near Murphysboro. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to
the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law; Barry Wesley and Dr.
Rebecca A. Hartman of Murphysboro, one grandson; Benjamin Wesley
currently on active duty with the U.S. Army and one granddaughter;
Abigail Wesley of Murphysboro.
