Gertrude Walker, 91 of Murphysboro died at
7:08 pm Sunday, February 1, 2009 in Murphysboro. Gertrude was born May 30,
1917 in Jackson County, Il. a daughter to the late Wally Andrew and Mary
Ellen (Conder) Mezo. She married Willie R. Walker May 23, 1964 in Grand
Tower, IL. Willie preceded her in death October 3, 1991. Gertrude was a
Christian and had worked at the former Cal Crest Outerwear in Murphysboro
for over 20 years. Funeral services will be at 1pm Thursday, February 5,
2009 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro. Burial will be at Murdale
Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday,
February 4, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the
American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Survivors include three sisters; Gladys Phillips of Belleville, IL.,
Tessie Clover of Swansea, IL., and Ida Clover of Murphysboro, one brother;
Gene Mezo of Missouri, and many Nieces, Nephews and close friends. In
addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by several
brothers and sisters. |
