William D. Carlock 84 of Murphysboro died at 11pm on July 13, 2011 in Murphysboro.  William was born on July 3, 1927 near Murphysboro a son to the late Thomas E. and Beulah G. Akins Carlock.  William was a U.S. Navy veteran and served his country during W.W.II. He was a retired insurance agent and handyman.
Graveside military rites will be at 10am on Monday, July 18, 2011 at Boucher Cemetery near Murphysboro.   Military rites will be conducted by members of the American Legion Paul Stout Post 127 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7190 both of Murphysboro, V.F.W. Post 2605 in Carbondale and the Jackson County Disabled American Veterans Chapter 69.  There will be no visitation, those wishing to attend should gather at the cemetery.
Survivors include one sister; Peggy Crider of Benton and one brother and sister-in-law; Jack and Carole Carlock of Murphysboro, he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Betty Hale, and four brothers; Orval, Carl, Raymond and Junior Carlock.
