- Luella S. Voss, 92 of Murphysboro, died
at 4:58 am Thursday, August 28, 2008 in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Luella was born in Baldwin, IL. April 1, 1916 a daughter to the late
Henry and Freda (Buch) Spier. She married Roland H. Voss in Baldwin,
IL., September 3, 1939, Roland survives of Murphysboro. She was a member
of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murphysboro, she was a member and 2
term President of the Lutheran Ladies Aid, she was a member of the
Lutheran Women's Missionary League, a 2 term President and member of the
American Legion Paul Stout Post 127 ladies auxiliary, and member of the
Adult Bible class at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and was a homemaker.
- Services will be at 1 pm Sunday, August
31, 2008 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro; Rev. Theodore Mayes of
the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murphysboro will officiate. Burial will
follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Baldwin. Visitation will be
from 5 to 8 pm on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Crawshaw Funeral Home.
Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the Lutheran Women's
Missionary League and will be accepted at the funeral home.
- Survivors include her husband; Roland H.
Voss of Murphysboro, one daughter; Arlou Hartman of Murphysboro, one son
and daughter-in-law; John R. and Carol Voss of Murphysboro, 8
grandchildren; Kimberly (Bryan) Cramer, Matthew (Linda) Whittenberg,
Paula (Scott) Maloney, Keith Voss, Pam (Jay) Martin, Julie Sellers, Dana
(Anthony) Batson, and Neil (Angie) Voss, 16 great grandchildren and 2
great- great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded
in death by one sister Esther Spier Wirth.
