Vivian Crews, 83 of Murphysboro
died at 9:42 pm Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007 in Murphysboro. Vivian was born in
Murphysboro June 11, 1924 a daughter to the late Russell & Bertha (Camden)
Gholson. She married William Hardy Crews August 23, 1942 in Cape
Girardeau, MO. Hardy preceded her in death Feb. 9, 1993. Vivian was a
member of the United Methodist Church in Murphysboro, St. Joseph Memorial
Hospital Auxiliary, and was a volunteer with S.I.H. Senior Advantage and
the Red Cross. She had worked as a retail clerk for many years at the
former Pauline's Fashions in downtown Murphysboro. Funeral services will
be at 11 am Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in
Murphysboro, Rev's. Richard Lewis and Earl Renshaw will officiate; burial
will follow at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park near Murphysboro. Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro
and from 9 to 11 am on Wednesday at the Church. Memorials are encouraged
and may be made to the United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the
church or the funeral home. Survivors include one daughter and son in law;
Joyce Ann and Donald Wisely of Vergennes, Two sons and daughter in laws;
David and Charlene Crews of Murphysboro and Richard Crews of Murphysboro
and Faith Ann Crews of Murphysboro. Six grandchildren; Erin Mears, Matt
Blacklock, Vanessa Ford, Amber Fleming, Christopher Dickman, and Heath
Crews. Six great grandchildren; Dylan Ford, Drake Fleming, Carlie Fleming,
Eric Fleming, Jenna Fleming and Chasey Mears. Also included in her family
are Mark & Tammy Wisely, Jill and Greg Whittington, Molly and Rick Barnes,
Kyle, Brook and Allie Whittington, Brock, Andrew, and Chloe Barnes, and
Jessica and Emily Wisely. In addition to her parents and husband she was
preceded in death by two sisters; Irene Ligon and Pat Nicholson. Our
Mother, Our Nana, Our Friend will be so very very missed. |
