Thomas Hayes, 20 of Murphysboro died Monday, December 13,
2010 in Murphysboro. Thomas was born April 11, 1990 a son to D. Patrick
and Gay (Burns) Hayes. Thomas was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-Day Saints of Carbondale. Thomas was a good friend to all who
knew him. He genuinely cared about people. Thomas had a great sense of
humor and loved to make his friends and family laugh. He has a passion for
reading and learning. Thomas will be deeply missed. We know he is in the
arms of his savior. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday,
December 18, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
located at 7168 Old Highway 13 Carbondale, IL. Bishop Luke Tolley will
officiate; burial will be in White County Memorial Gardens near Carmi, IL.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Crawshaw
Funeral Home in Murphysboro and from 9 to 10am on Saturday at the church.
Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the John A. Logan Literacy
Program and will be accepted at the funeral home and the church. Survivors
include his mother; Gay Hayes of Murphysboro, and his father and
step-mother; D. Patrick and Dora Hayes of Murphysboro, one brother and
sister-in-law; William & Jessica Hayes, William is on active duty with the
U.S. Army stationed in Afghanistan, two sisters; Julianna Hayes of
Carbondale and April Hurt of Gainesville, FL., his Girlfriend; Rachel Kaze
of Murphysboro, step-sister; Sandra (Trevor) Smith of Santa Cruz, CA.,
Jordan Kaze of Redding, CA., and Joseph Kaze of Murphysboro, his Paternal
Grandparents; Bill and Linda Williams of Carmi, two Aunts; Judy Burns of
Nashville, IN., and Linda (Scott) Pugsley of Carmi, two uncles; Bob
(Tammy) Burns of Austin, TX., and Robert (Rae Lynn) Hayes of Austin, TX.
He is also survived by one niece and nephew; Hailey and Jaden Hayes, and
many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his Maternal
Grandparents; Robert and Hazel Burns, and his Paternal Grandfather; Billy
Frank Hayes.
