Finas L. "Butch" Stiegman,
69 of Murphysboro died at 4:30 pm Tuesday, December 18, 2007 in
Murphysboro. Butch was born March 5, 1938 in Carlyle, IL. a son to the
late Henry and Lorene (Suggs) Stiegman. He married Sandra Driskill
November 28, 1963 in Nashville, IL. she survives of Murphysboro. Butch was
a Member of the United Methodist Church in Murphysboro, and a U.A. Army
Veteran, he was a teacher and had served as a Principal in several
elementary schools in Murphysboro school district 186, he retired as an
administrator for the Murphysboro School district after 38 years of
service. He was a 47 year member of the Washington Lodge A.F.& A.M. # 55
in Nashville, a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #572 in Murphysboro, a
member of the Jackson County Country Club, he was also a member of the
M.E.A., I.E.A. and N.E.A. and the Jackson County Retired Teachers assn.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the
United Methodist Church in Murphysboro; Rev. Richard Lewis of the United
Methodist Church will officiate. Private graveside committal services will
be held at the Masonic Cemetery in Nashville. Visitation will be from 5:00
to 8:00 pm Friday, December 21, 2007 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in
Murphysboro and from 9:00 am until the hour of services on Saturday at the
church. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the Butch Stiegman
Memorial Scholarship Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home and
church. In addition to his wife Sandra, he is survived by one son and
daughter in law; Steven and Elizabeth Stiegman of Belleville, IL., two
Grandchildren; Ryker and Victoria Stiegman, four brother and sister in
laws; Sterling and Charlene Stiegman, Rocky and Eunice Stiegman, Syl and
Marilyn Stiegman, and Ricky and Cindy Stiegman all of Nashville, IL., two
sister and brother in laws; Dena and George Rands of Moro, IL., and Coceda
and Tom Senior of Santa Rosa Beach, FL., two sister in laws and their
husbands; Katherine and Tom Dahncke and Jane and Steve Fletcher all of
Nashville, IL., several nieces and nephews also survive. His wife Sandra
and family want to recognize and thank his caregivers who throughout his
illness provided excellent care. In keeping with his wishes Butch was an
organ and tissue donor giving the gift of life to countless other
individuals and families. |
