Randall Thomas Stearns, 48 of Murphysboro died at 6:45am on Sunday, October 10, 2010. Randall was born April 15, 1962 a son to Thomas Edward and Rose Mary (Connelly) Stearns; they both survive of rural Murphysboro. Randall was united in marriage to Linda Heins on August 19, 1989 in Murphysboro; Linda also survives of rural Murphysboro. He had attended the First Baptist Church and the First Lutheran Church both in Murphysboro. Randall was a mechanic for the Illinois Dept. of Transportation. He was a U.S. Navy veteran from the Persian Gulf era, he was a member of American Legion Paul Stout Post 127, V.F.W. Post 7190 both of Murphysboro, and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Anna, IL. Funeral services will be at 11am on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Pastor Don Caraway will officiate. Burial be at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park with military rites by the American Legion Paul Stout Post 127 and the V.F.W. 7190 both of Murphysboro, V.F.W. Post 2605 Carbondale and the Jackson County Disabled Veterans Chapter 69. Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Crawshaw Funeral Home. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to an educational fund established for Randall's children; Crissy and Rewn. Survivors include his wife; Linda Stearns of Murphysboro, one daughter; Mary Christina Stearns, at home and one son; Rewn Alan Stearns also at home, parents; Thomas E. and Rose Mary Stearns of Murphysboro, two sisters and two brothers-in-law; Mary Lou and Pete Brown of Carbondale, IL., and Martha Kay and John Thornton of Herrin, IL. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Fred and Olene Stearns and his maternal grandparents; Charles and Mary Connelly.
