Delmar E. Stanton, 73 of Murphysboro,
died at 10:30 pm Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at home. Delmar was born in
Murphysboro on August 29, 1932, the son of the late Roy and Ella (Lane)
Stanton. He married Patricia A. Connor in Corneth, MS on June 30, 1956 she
survives of Murphysboro. Delmar was a member of Pate Chapel Baptist
Church, Operators Local #318, and the Murphysboro Lions Club. He was the
retired owner and operator of Delmar E. Stanton Excavating and Trucking in
Murphysboro. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean era. Delmar was
happiest playing with his grandchildren, operating a backhoe, watching
Dale Earnhardt or telling stories at the coffee shop. Delmar always felt
blessed to have married into the Connor family and loved each and everyone
as his own brothers and sisters. Delmar loved his Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ and is now home in His arms. Delmar will be missed greatly and his
friends and family looks forward to the day they are together again in
eternity. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Monday, September 26, 2005
at Pate Chapel Baptist Church in rural Murphysboro with Rev. James Easton
and Rev. John Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at Murdale Gardens of
Memory in Murphysboro. Visitation will be after 5 pm on Sunday at Crawshaw
Funeral Home in Murphysboro, and from 9 am until the hour of services
Monday at Pate Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his wife Patricia he
is survived by one daughter and son in law; Tracy and Mike Bost of
Murphysboro, three sons and two daughter in laws; Larry Stanton of
Murphysboro, Gary and LaDonna Stanton of Alto Pass, IL, and Matt and Stacy
Stanton of Murphysboro. Grand Children; Caleb and Patrick Stanton, Joshua,
Jacob, Jordan, and Hannah Stanton, Steven and his wife Betsy Bost, Kasey
and her husband Travis Fred, Kaitlin Bost, Jessica, Emily, Kelsey, and
Mackenzie Stanton, great grand children Spencer and Lydia Fred. Four
sisters and one brother in law; Mary Ellen Rozmislowicz of Coffeen, IL,
Lillian and George Cox of Murphysboro, Sue Hines of DuQuoin, and Virginia
Clements of Gorham, Four brothers and sisters in laws; Leroy and Betty
Hardwig of Murphysboro, George Edward and Joyce Stanton of Hayward, CA,
Donnie and Mary Ann Stanton of Murphysboro, and Mike and Norma Stanton of
California, and many Nieces and Nephews. In addition to his parent's he
was preceded in death by; one brother, one grandson Justin Stanton and
twin great grand daughters Hallie and Ellianna Fred, and his loving father
in law and mother in law; Harold and Ruth Connor. Memorials are encouraged
and may be made to: Sister Edi Naelga a missionary in the Philippines or
to the Pate Chapel Baptist Church building fund
