Edwina M. Sims, 99 of Murphysboro
died at 7:45 pm Sunday, March 11, 2007 in Carbondale. Edwina was born in
Murphysboro November 15, 1907 a daughter to the late George P. and Anna
Mae (Bellm) McCoskey. She married Earl Eugene Sims on August 9, 1933 in
Murphysboro; Earl preceded her in death December 14, 1970. Edwina was a
member of the First Christian Church in Murphysboro and was a member of
the Murphysboro Senior Citizens. Funeral services will be at 11 am Friday,
March 16, 2007 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Rev. Dee Armes
will officiate, burial will follow at Tower Grove Cemetery in Murphysboro.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Survivors
include, one daughter and son in law; Marilyn and John Ryan of
Springfield, VA., two granddaughters; and their spouses; Julie and Steve
Campbell of Prince Frederick MD., and Molly and Tayloe Negus of Richmond,
VA., five great grandchildren; Erin, Aileen and Ian Campbell and Kyleigh,
and Sidney Negus, two sisters in law; Reita McCoskey and Ethel Lipe both
of Murphysboro. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in
death by two brothers; James and Woodrow McCoskey. Memorials may be made
to the First Christian Church, Van Fund, or the American Cancer Society
and will be accepted at the funeral home |
