Anna J. Sherman, 61 of Murphysboro died at 6:30 pm Thursday, July 15, 2010 in Murphysboro. Anna was born July 29, 1948 in Springfield, IL., daughter of the late William and Nellie (Hickson) Widner. She was united in marriage to Michael E. Sherman on June 3, 1978 in Murphysboro, Michael survives of Murphysboro. Anna was a homemaker and had attended the First Christian Church in Murphysboro, she was a member of the Murphysboro V.F.W. Post 7190 Ladies Auxiliary and the Murphysboro Elks Lodge # 572. Funeral services will be at 11 am Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro; Pastor David Hunt of the First Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park near Murphysboro. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the Elks Crippled Children's Fund. Survivors include her husband; Michael Sherman of Murphysboro, three daughters and sons-in-law; Denise and David Light of Ava, IL., Kelly and Ricky Roseberry of Yucca Valley, CA., and Leslie and Darren Marshall of Temecula, CA., two sons; Daniel Sherman and Thomas Sherman both of Murphysboro, six grandchildren; Kaleb and Shelby Light of Ava, Morgan and Zoey Roseberry of Yucca Valley, CA., and Malina and Jordan Gabiola of Temecula, CA., two sisters and one brother-in-law; Mary Weller of Springfield, IL., and Marie and Bob Pryor of Springfield, IL., two brothers and one sister-in-law; William Widner Jr. of Fort Worth, TX., and Donald and Debby Widner of Springfield, IL., one brother-in-law; Kurt Sherman and her mother-in-law Betty Sherman both of Murphysboro, she is also survived by one aunt, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews and many friends.
