Rhonda Seeber, 55, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009
at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale after a valiant battle with breast
cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, George Duboe. She is
survived by her husband, Glenn Seeber of Murphysboro; mother and
stepfather, Jewel and Albert Baker of Lincolnwood; siblings Maureen (Mark)
Elias of Buffalo Grove, Susie (Ray) Bryant of Hoffman Estates, Howard
(Patti) Duboe of Buffalo Grove, and Sheryl (Don) Taubin of Crystal Lake;
brother-in-law Ken Seeber of Des Moines, Iowa; and loving nephews, nieces,
and extended family. She was born Aug.12, 1953, in Chicago to George and
Jewel Duboe. After graduating in 1971 from Evanston Township High School,
she attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She graduated from
SIUC in 1974. She was Director of Administrative Services for the SIUC
School of Medicine. She retired Nov. 30, 2008. She married Glenn Seeber on
Aug. 25, 1974 in Chicago. They lived in Murphysboro near Kinkaid Lake,
where they spent much of their time boating and entertaining friends and
family. She was a lifetime Girl Scout, and a volunteer for the Shagbark
Girl Scout Council since 1974. She was especially dedicated to
international Scouting, and to the Sangam World Center in Sangam, India.
Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Crawshaw Funeral Home
in Murphysboro. The funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. at
Crawshaw Funeral Home with Dr. Samuel Goldman officiating. Burial will
follow at Mount Joy Cemetery near Murphysboro. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to the Shagbark Girl Scout Council, the Susan G.
Komen for the Cure cancer fund, or the SIU School of Medicine. |
