Wilbert C. "Slim" Schlimpert, 79 of Marion
IL., formerly of Carterville died at 6am Thursday, May 8, 2008 in Marion.
Wilbert was born in Jacob, IL., November 14, 1928 a son to the late Julius
and Hilda (Engert) Schlimpert. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church
in Herrin, IL., he was retired from the Southern Illinois University
Physical Plant, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Funeral
services will be at 11 am Monday, May 12, 2008 at Christ Lutheran Church
in Jacob, IL. Pastor Mike Kettner of Christ Lutheran Church will
officiate. Burial will be at Christ Lutheran Cemetery near Gorham.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Crawshaw Funeral
Home in Murphysboro. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to Trinity
Lutheran Church in Herrin or to Christ Lutheran Church in Jacob. Survivors
include one daughter and son in law; Susan and Michael Crespi of Colp,
IL., two sons and daughter in laws; Steven and Mary Kay Schlimpert of St.
Peters, MO., and Timothy and Cheryl Schlimpert of South Bend, IN., nine
grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he
was preceded in death by one sister; Georgine Stellhorn. |
