Mrs. Alice Gertrude Riggio, 95 yrs. of Murphysboro
Died 4:43 P.M. Wednesday April 7, 2005 at Jackson County Rehab and Care Center. She was born on January 20, 1910 in Vergennes, Illinois the Daughter of the late Lucius D. Swetland and Bertie Elizabeth (Mann) Swetland. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the Crawshaw Funeral Home with Father Leo Hayes Officiating. Friends may call from 6 until 8 P.M. Friday evening at the Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Burial in St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery. She married Frank Riggio in Murphysboro, Illinois on July 12, 1933. He died on August 20, 1987. She was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church Murphysboro, St. Andrews Altar Society, St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary; She worked for many years at the former Brown Shoe Factory. Survivors include: Sister Irene Flanigan of Murphysboro. Grand Sons: Enrico A. Riggio of Elkville, Mario A. Riggio and his Fiancée Ashley Hickman of Carbondale. Grand Daughter: Jennie Riggio Wheatley, U.S.Navy NAS Oceania. Virginia Beach, VA. One Daughter in Law, Ramona Riggio of Murphysboro. Two Brother in laws and their spouses, Ben and Mary Riggio of California, and Mike and Ann Riggio of California. Many Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by; Her Husband Frank, One Son Daniel Riggio on November 2, 1995, and Sisters: Effa Pugh, Alberta Rausch, Freda Rosenberger and Brothers; Bill Swetland, Charlie Swetland, Orlando Swetland and Walter Swetland.
