Adell M. Reeves, 81 of Murphysboro
died at 12:18 am Thursday, November 15, 2007 in Murphysboro. Adell was born February 21, 1926 in Elgin, IL. a daughter to the late William and Emily (Kruse) Heim. Following her mother's death at an early age, she was raised by her father and step-mother Emma Heim. Adell married Ira Reeves May 17, 1948 in Carthage, IL. Ira survives of Murphysboro. Adell was a school teacher in the Murphysboro area for 26 years, she taught at Logan School in Murphysboro and several other schools. She was a member of the M.E.A., I.E.A., and was a lifetime member of N.E.A. She was an active member of the Beta Psi Chapter #4062 of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority for many years, serving in leadership roles within the chapter. Adell enjoyed traveling with the Black Knights Drum and Bugle Corps for 6 years, cooking and sewing her way into the hearts of many young adults. Funeral services will be at 11 am Monday, November 19, 2007 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Rev. David Hunt of the First Christian Church in Murphysboro will officiate, burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park near Murphysboro. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Sunday, and from 8 am until the hour of services on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the Beta Psi Chapter #4062 of Epsilon Sigma Alpha both will be accepted at the funeral home. In addition to her husband Ira she is survived by two daughters and son in law; Margaret and Dave Fischer of Albuquerque, NM, and Janice and Alex Paull of Carbondale, Six son's and four daughter in laws; William Reeves of Anna, James and Susan Reeves of Smyrna, GA., Randall Reeves of Belvidere, IL., Kevin Reeves of Murphysboro, Ronald and Linda Reeves of O'Fallon, MO., Steven and Paula Reeves of Henderson, NV., and Marj Reeves of Winamac, IN., she is also survived by 5 grandson's 6 granddaughter's , one sister; Margaret Reidl of Hampshire, IL., several nieces and nephews, Adell's family also wish to give special recognition to her care givers Donna Webb and Maxine Lewis for their outstanding care . In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, 1 son Michael and 1 granddaughter.
