- Rose Marie Pierson, 73 of Murphysboro,
departed from this life at 7:40 pm Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the
Rehab and Care Center of Jackson County in Murphysboro. Rose was born
near Murphysboro on February 28, 1935 a daughter to the late Bert and
Helen (Johnson) Pierson. She was a member of Fairview Christian Church
and the Route One Hobby Club. She graduated from Worthen School and
Murphysboro Township High School. Rose was a homemaker and enjoyed
drawing, painting, doing embroidery and growing flowers.
- Funeral services will be at 10:30 am
Monday, October 20, 2008 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Pastor
Don Grammer will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Christian
Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Sunday at the
funeral home. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the Fairview
Christian Church Cemetery Association and will be accepted at the
funeral home.
- Survivors include five brothers and
sister in laws; Bill and Thelma (Love) Pierson of Murphysboro, David and
Dianna (Cheatham) Pierson of Jackson, MO. Richard and Lynn (Marshall)
Pierson of Murphysboro, Mike and Jayne (Williams) Pierson of Milton,
WI., and John and Karen (Waldron) Pierson of Murphysboro, two sisters
and brother in laws; Imogene and Ralph Morthland of Murphysboro and Sue
and Robert Matz of Grandview MO. Rose is also survived by many nieces
and nephews and their spouses; Steve and Elizabeth Pierson, Jeff and
Vicki Pierson, Melinda Pierson and her husband Bryan Lee, Lynda
Morthland Pfautsch and her husband Mark, Samuel Morthland and Ryan
Morthland, Laura Pierson Bray and her husband Lance, Marcia Pierson
Daniels and her husband Tim, Michelle Pierson Trambley and her husband
Brian, Richard B. and Scarlet Pierson, Joshua Matz, Sarah Pierson
Kerrick and her husband Michael, David M. Pierson, Elizabeth Pierson
Gieselman and her husband Tony, Benjamin M. Pierson, Tiffany Pierson
Cunico and her husband Adam, and Emily Pierson. She also leaves behind
great nieces and nephews; Ashley, Christopher and Bradley Pierson,
William Pierson, Catherine and Owen Lee, Kirstin, Andrew and Heather
Trambley, Allison Bray, Camryn and Blaine Daniels, Pierson Kerrick,
Claire Pfautsch and Adyson Cunico. Several aunts also survive; Opal
Johnson, Catherine Thompson, Lela Pierson, and Evelyn Foster, and
numerous cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death
by three brothers, one great-nephew and several aunts and uncles.
