Sophima (Cricket) Phillips, 88 of Murphysboro
died at 3:30 pm Saturday, March 24, 2007 in Murphysboro. Cricket was born in Boynton, AR., March 14, 1919 a daughter to the late Pete William and Amanda (Rouse) De Mann. She married Roy E. Phillips in Murphysboro, IL. June 6, 1934, Roy preceded her in death May 23, 1992. Cricket was a member of the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Murphysboro and was a homemaker. Funeral services will be at 11 am Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Pastor William Elliott will officiate, burial will follow at Murdale Gardens of Memory near Murphysboro. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Survivors include one daughter; Richel (Bonnie) Butz of Murphysboro, two sisters; Betty J. (John) Klawer of Port Charlotte, FL., Florence M. (Maurice) Crocker of Williamsville, MO., two brothers; Paul (Dorothy) Richey of Albuquerque, NM., and John Phillips of Beech Grove, TN., one sister in law; Inita Phillips of Poplar Bluff, MO., three grandchildren; Crystal (Greg) Hilliard of Mt. Vernon, IL., William N. Phillips and Donnie R. Phillips both of Poplar Bluff, MO., seven great grandchildren; Timothy and Katie Phillips of Poplar Bluff, MO., Cassandra and Brock Baltzell of Mt. Vernon, IL., Jordan Hilliard of Mt. Vernon, IL., Benjamin Phillips and Sheila Royce both of Muskogee, OK., five great great grandchildren; Randy Hederer, Timothy Phillips, Alexis Phillips, Alexander Phillips all of Poplar Bluff, MO., and Seth Royce of Muskogee, OK. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son; William J. Phillips, two sisters; Elmima DeMann and Zuralee Lane, and two brothers; James Edward DeMann and William F. Richey. Memorials may be made to the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
