Jeanine Nelson, 69 of rural Pomona
died at 1:10 pm Friday, October 21, 2005 at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis,
MO. Jeanine was born June 22, 1936 in Grand Tower, IL. one of twin
daughters born to the late Homer and Hazel (Nemo) Cavaness. She married
Lonnie Nelson June 8, 1956 in Murphysboro, IL. Lonnie survives of rural
Pomona. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at
Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, with Pastor Wes Henson of the Walnut
St. Baptist Church in Carbondale officiating, burial will follow at Walker
Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Monday
at Crawshaw Funeral Home. Jeanine was a Presbyterian, a Homemaker a
wonderful mother, and grand mother, she will be sadly missed. Survivors
include her husband Lonnie of rural Pomona, two daughters and one son in
law; Pam Nelson of Carterville, IL., and Marcie and Kent Buckles of DeSoto,
IL., two sons and two daughters in law; Michael and Tammy Nelson of
Herrin, IL., and Lonnie Jr. and Gracie Nelson of Burleson, TX., her sister
Pauline Butler of Grand Tower, her twin sister Jeannette Wilson of
Collinsville, IL., and one brother Freddie Cavaness of Grand Tower, eleven
grand children; Chris, Nathan, and Kristen Lipe, Ashley and Jerrod Nelson,
Zachary, Ian, and Sierra Buckles, and Taylor, Brooke and Brett Nelson. In
addition to her parents 6 brothers preceded her in death.
