Evelyn Nash, 80 of Westminster, CA. formerly of Murphysboro
died, Saturday, August 12, 2006 in Westminster. Evelyn was born in
Watertown NY., June 6, 1926. She married Marion R. Nash, January 23,1946,
Marion preceded her in death January 15 1996. Evelyn was a member of the
United Methodist Church in Murphysboro, and a homemaker. Her husband
Marion was a member of a small group who helped conceive Murphysboro's
first Apple Festival in 1952, he served at chairman of the organizing
committee from 1952 until 1993, Evelyn served along side her husband
assisting him in untold ways to make each years Apple Festival a huge
success. Funeral services will be at 11 am Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at the
United Methodist Church in Murphysboro, the Revs. Richard Lewis and Earl
Renshaw will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 am until the hour of
services Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at 1 pm Wednesday August
23, 2006 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Memorials may be
made to the United Methodist Church in Murphysboro. Survivors include; one
daughter; Theresa Salazar of Aliso Viejo, CA., four grand children; Kara
and Cory Salazar, Dennis Nash, and Ann Elizabeth Elliott. Five great grand
children; Alex and Kyle Nash, Savannah, Dawson and Sierra Nash, two
sister's in law; Norma Cronk and Barbara Cronk. In addition to her parents
and husband one daughter; Kathie Elliott, one son; Jim Nash, one grand
son; Dr. Steven Nash, and two brothers preceded her in death.
