Fred E. Murray, 61 of DuQuoin
died at 10:52 pm Friday, January 18, 2008 in DuQuoin. Fred was born in
Murphysboro August 26, 1946 a son to the late Everett E. and Lela I.
(Dailey) Murray. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 22,
2008 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, with Pastor Geri McGee
officiating. Burial will be in Hallidayboro Cemetery near Elkville, IL.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Monday, January 21, 2008 at Crawshaw
Funeral Home in Murphysboro. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to
the donor's choice. Fred was a Pentecostal by faith and was a former
member of the Eagles Lodge in DuQuoin. He was a retired operator from
Phelps-Dodge in DuQuoin. Survivors include three daughters; Donna Murray
and her friend Cliff Johnson of DuQuoin, Sheila Young of Elkville, Connie
and her husband Clifford Cavins of Elkville, one step-daughter; Coriss
Murray and her fiancé Robbie Fowler of Elkville, one son and daughter in
law; Fred Jr. and Brenda Murray of Elkville, eight grandchildren and three
step-grandchildren, one sister; Brenda Cantrell of Murphysboro, four
brothers; Bill R. Murray of Colp, IL., Jack L. Murray of Princeton, IL.,
Kenneth L. Murray of Peoria, IL., and Richard D. Murray of Murphysboro. He
is also survived by his ex-wife; Ann Craig and a long time close friend;
Mary Olmsted. He was preceded in death not only by his parents but also by
three sisters; Linda & Betty Murray and Judy Schmitto and two brothers; Ed
Murray and John E. Murray. |
