Marianne Frances Smith, 47 of Murphysboro
 died at 8:27 pm Friday, September 29, 2006 in Murphysboro. Marianne was born in Flint, MI., July 9, 1959 a daughter to the late Silas Saylor and Freda Maude (Spence) Smith. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church, she was a member and leader of Girl Scouts for over 35 years; and had been a cook at the former Roosevelt Square Nursing Home in Murphysboro, was a 1978 graduate of Murphysboro High School, an Avon dealer and a member of the Presidents Club of Avon two years, and had received two Albee awards from Avon. Funeral services will be at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro at 11 am Tuesday, October 3, 2006, Pastor Jason Brandon of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church will officiate; burial will follow at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery in Murphysboro. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 8 pm at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the Pleasant Hill Christian Church or the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home. Survivors include one daughter; Jamie Nicole Smith of Murphysboro, four sisters; Carolyn Smith of Valdosta, GA., Barbara (Tony) Rinella of Murphysboro, Therese Zolk of Mulberry, AR., Christine (Michael) Westbrook of Murphysboro, five brothers; Silas (Evelyn) Smith III of Bethalto, Il., Dennis Smith of Fairfield, OH., Joseph Smith of Murphysboro, John (Sue) Smith of Nevada, MO., and Christopher (Susie) Smith of Murphysboro, one aunt; Carolyn (Silas) Johnson of Jackson, MI., ten nieces, seven nephews and several great Nieces and Nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one niece Robyn Zolk.
