Rosemary Struck McCord,
83 of Murphysboro died at 8:35 pm Saturday, December 16, 2006 in DuQuoin. Rosemary was born in Somerset Township Jackson County Illinois on January 15, 1923 a daughter of the late Herman O. & Edna May (Griffith) Struck. Her first Husband Lowell Doerr preceded her in death. She married Glenn McCord in August of 1959 he preceded her in death November 13, 1976. Rosemary was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Murphysboro. After graduating from Carbondale High School she worked for the Draft Board in Jackson County for several years during World War II and the Korean War era. She then started working at the Jackson County Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Services office in Murphysboro she retired as the Executive Director for the U.S. Dept of Agriculture, Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Services (ASCS) office in Murphysboro, serving Jackson County farmers for over 25 years. Rosemary was also a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Carbondale Aerie # 2569 F.O.E. Funeral services will be at 11 am Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Rev. Gerald Wright will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park Cemetery near Murphysboro. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 am until the hour of services at the funeral home. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to Tip Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home. Survivors include one brother; Dr. Jack J. Struck of DuQuoin, one nephew; Scott Struck and his wife Michelle of Springfield, Il., one niece; Michelle Struck Sulaski and her husband Tim of Bloomington, Il. and two great nieces Hannah and Sarah Struck. Her only son, Kevin D. McCord preceded her in death on August 30, 1995.
