Martha E. Wheeler, 67 of Murphysboro died at
1:15 am Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Carbondale. Martha was born in
Murphysboro, IL., April 28, 1941 a daughter to the late William Lawson and
Pauline Evelyn (Pierson) Buford. She married Ronald F. Wheeler September
12, 1994 in Murphysboro, Ronald survives of Murphysboro. Martha was member
of the Elm Street Baptist Church and was employed as a clerk in the
Treasurer's office at the Jackson County Court House. Funeral services
will be at 11am Friday, May 9, 2008 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in
Murphysboro; Pastor Charles Allen of the Elm St. Baptist Church will
officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park near
Murphysboro. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Thursday, May 8, 2008 at
the funeral home. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the Elm
Street Baptist Church. In addition to her husband Ronald other survivors
include two sons and daughter in laws; DeWayne and Mariann Crowell and
Brian and Gail Crowell of Murphysboro, two daughters and one son in law;
Stephanie Cole and Leandra and Russell Bryant of Murphysboro, one step-son
and his wife; Steve and Lisa Wheeler, one sister and brother in law;
Christina and Chauncey Wilson of Murphysboro. Ten grandchildren; Daniel
McRoberts, April Crowell, Adam Crowell, Heather Crowell, Blake Crowell,
Jacob Lewis, Sara Cole, Hannah Cole, Luke Bryant, and Holly Bryant, and
three step-grandchildren Aaron, Rachel, and Evan Wheeler. In addition to
her parents she was preceded in death by one sister; Helen Merritt. |
