Effie Keller, 91 of Grand Tower,
died Sunday May 7, 2006 in Grand Tower. Effie was born in Saline, KS.
February 11, 1915 a daughter of the late William and Mabel Kittle. She
married Dennis Irvin Keller in Grand Tower on November 23, 1951 he
survives of Murphysboro. Effie was a member of the First Baptist Church in
Grand Tower. She earned a bachelors degree in art education from Southern
Illinois Normal University in Carbondale and taught 2 years at Dupo grade
school early in her life. Funeral services will be at 11 am Friday, May
12, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Grand Tower, Rev. Don Grammer will
officiate, burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park near
Murphysboro. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Thursday, May 11, 2006 at
Crawshaw Funeral Home in Grand Tower, and on Friday at the church from 9
to the hour of services. Survivors include one son; Bryan Keller of Anna,
IL. two daughters; Darcy Murphy of Carbondale, IL. and Rosanna Herr of
Buncombe, IL. one brother; Jasper Kittle of Wichita, KS. Eight
grandchildren; Tyler Keller, Brent Keller, Heather Murphy, Ryan Murphy,
Daniel Herr, Amarrah Herr, Joshua Herr, and Sarah Herr. In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters. Memorials
are encouraged and may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the
Baptist Children's home in Carmi, IL. memorials will be accepted at the
funeral home or the church.
