John H. Fite, 86 of Pinckneyville
died at 6:15 pm Thursday, November 29, 2007 in Herrin Hospital. John was born November 19, 1921 in Williamson County, Illinois a son to the late William Lee and Emma (Modglin) Fite. He was first married to Mae Hopkins she preceded him in death in 1963, he then married Ann Opp she preceded him in death in 1985, he then married Ruth (Mileur) Koenig she preceded him in death February 21, 2006. John was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pinckneyville; he was retired highway maintenance worker for the Illinois Dept. of Transportation and was a member of the Murphysboro Moose Lodge and was a 50 year member of the Carbondale Eagles Lodge. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, December 3, 2007 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Rev. Jim Barnett of the First United Methodist Church in Pinckneyville will officiate; burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Crawshaw Funeral Home. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Pinckneyville or to the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home. Survivors include one daughter and son in law; Mary Jo and Charles Griffin of Carbondale, one step-daughter and son in law; Pam and Deon Harrison of Murphysboro, three grand children; Penny and Mike Dismore, Debbie and Steve Sisk, and Jason Griffin, three great grand children; Shawn, Cody and Kelsie, one step-grandson; Dr. Brian and Kristina Harrison, two step-great grand children; Delaney and Aidan Harrison, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wives he was also preceded in death by one son; John Michael Fite, one brother; Joe Fite, and one sister; Zoe Phemister.
