James Arthur Cochran Jr., 46 of Marquand, MO., formerly of Murphysboro, died at 9:52pm on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro. James was born in Murphysboro, IL., on June 16, 1964 a son to James Arthur Cochran Sr. and Lila Bradley. James had attended the Life Church in Farmington, MO., and had been employed as a First Mate on a tow boat on the Mississippi River. A celebration of James' life will begin at 5pm on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Victory Christian Fellowship Church fellowship hall, a service of remembrance will be held at 6pm in the fellowship hall, Pastor Frank Voorhees will officiate. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the donor's choice and will be accepted at the church or Crawshaw Funeral Home. Survivors include his mother and step-father; Lila and Edward Monie of Marquand, MO., one son; Kenneth William Bradley Cochran, one step-daughter; Shiloh Cole, one brother; John David Cochran of Murphysboro, one sister; Rebecca Malinski of Ava, his paternal grandmother; Kathleen Cochran Hines of Murphysboro, one aunt; Sharon (John) Heern of Ava, three uncles; Clarence and Steve Cochran both of Murphysboro, and Ronnie Cochran of Carterville, IL., his step-mother; Darline Cochran of Murphysboro, two step-sisters; Lisa Dover of Murphysboro, and Denise Smith of Marquand, MO., two step-brothers; Mike Flores of Belleville, IL. and Jim Monie of Marquand, MO. He was preceded in death by his father; James Arthur Cochran Sr. on March 7, 2008 and his grandfather; Albert Cochran on September 20, 1984.
