Dr. Frank LeRoy Holloway, age 91 of Tega Cay, SC., died Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Westminster Health Care in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
        Memorial services were previously held November 12, 2011 at Bible Baptist Church in Tega Cay, SC.  Graveside services with military rites by the American Legion Paul Stout Post 127 and the V.F.W. Post 7190 both of Murphysboro, V.F.W. Post 2605 in Carbondale and the Jackson County Disabled American Veterans Chapter 69 will be at 11 am on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Tower Grove Cemetery in Murphysboro, Rev. Earl Renshaw of the United Methodist Church will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service for a 12 noon luncheon at the United Methodist Church located at 1500 Pine Street in Murphysboro. Crawshaw Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
         Born in Murphysboro, Illinois, Dr. Holloway was the only child born to the late Frank Irwin Holloway and Helen Eck Holloway. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of the Yorktown Association in Charleston. Dr. Holloway graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1942 and received his PhD from the University of Chicago in Physical Organic Chemistry in 1950. He was retired from Allied Chemical. Dr. Holloway was a volunteer firefighter for the Tega Cay Fire Department and was a member of the Tega Cay Lions Club.  He was a photographer and the author of two published books, Rine's Universal Rules for Man, Money, and Molecules; and Bigger Bridges for Better Education.
         Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Alice Louise Cochran Holloway; his son, Randall Holloway and his wife, Carol, of Fort Mill, SC., his granddaughter, Allison Kinard and her husband, Sean; his great-granddaughter, Brenna; and two step-grandchildren.
Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the Tega Cay Fire Dept., 7200 Tega Cay Drive, Tega Cay, SC 29708.
