Frances L. Smith, 80 of Murphysboro,
died at 1:30 am Monday, May 29, 2006 in Murphysboro. Frances was born in
Carbondale Township, Jackson County, Illinois August 1, 1925 a daughter of
the late Henry C. and Agnes E. (Stack) Smith. She was a member of the Elm
Street Baptist Church in Murphysboro and was a personal care giver and did
baby setting in her earlier years. Funeral services will be held at 10 am
Friday, June 2, 2006 at the Elm Street Baptist Church in Murphysboro,
Pastor Charles Allen of Elm Street Baptist Church will officiate. Burial
will follow at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park Cemetery near Murphysboro.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday at Crawshaw Funeral Home and
from 9 until the hour of services Friday at the church. Memorials are
encouraged may be made to the Elm Street Baptist Church and will be
accepted at the funeral home. Survivors include four sisters; Dorothy
Smith Williams of Cape Girardeau, MO, Carol J. Smith of St. Louis, MO.,
Mary Smith Rath of Schuertz, TX., and Barbara Smith Donegan of Leawood
KS., one brother; Chester Smith of Murphysboro. Eleven Nieces and Nephews,
and several great Nieces and Nephews. In addition to her parents one
brother Edgar Smith preceded her in death.
