James Owen Frick, 85 of Cocoa, FL., formerly of Carbondale
died at 2:45 pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at home. James was born in Cobden, IL. on July 8, 1920 the son of the late Tulley E. and Flossie H. (Robinson) Frick. He married Doris E. Allard in Cape Girardeau, MO., on October 28, 1938, she survives of Cocoa, FL. James retired after 39 years as a freight clerk for the I.C.&G. Railroad, he was a member of the Indian River City First United Methodist Church in Titusville, FL., a U.S. Army veteran of W.W.II, a 25 year member of the Carbondale Elks Lodge, and a 12 year member of GWRRA Motorcycle Association. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 8, 2005 at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Murphysboro with the Rev. Richard Lewis of the First United Methodist Church in Murphysboro officiating, military graveside rites will also be conducted by American Legion Post 127 and V.F.W. Post 7190 both of Murphysboro, V.F.W. Post 2605 Carbondale and Jackson County Disabled American Veterans Chapter 69. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery. Survivors in addition to his wife Doris include; one son and daughter in law; Jim L. and Lynn Frick of Cocoa, FL., one sister; Eva Lou Frick of Melbourne, FL., one brother; Frank Frick of Carbondale, one granddaughter; Darlene Granger of Cocoa, FL., one grandson; Dennis Frick of Cocoa, FL., and five great grand children. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are in the care of Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro.
