Jessie Madeline (Berry) Fletcher, 95 of
Murphysboro,
died at 11:58 am Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at her residence in
Murphysboro. She was born August 2, 1912 in Greenwood, Arkansas the eldest
of three daughters to the late Leonard Henry and Dora May (Issacs) Berry.
On September 10, 1934 she married Kenneth Fletcher in Waterloo, IL.,
Kenneth preceded her in death May 14, 1982. To this union three children
were born, all survive and include two daughters; Wanda Fletcher McCoy of
The Colony, TX., and Virginia Fletcher Rubach of Lemay, MO., and one son
and daughter in law; William K. and Jan Fletcher of Murphysboro, IL.,
other survivors include her sister; Bonita Journey of Marion, IL., six
grandchildren; Donna Walthall and her husband Mitch, Richard McCoy and his
wife Judy all of Texas, Deborah Rubach Linn and her husband Chris and
Brian Rubach and his companion Mary all of Missouri, Jani Bryant and her
husband Gene, and Juli Mozockie and her husband Jeffrey all of Illinois,
one brother in law; Ed Warfel of Christopher, IL., and one sister in law;
Marjune Fletcher of Carbondale, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great
grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceding her
in death were her parents, her husband, one sister, two sons in law, and
one nephew. Mrs. Fletcher spent most of her adult life working as a
Licensed Practical Nurse at Lutheran Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Services
will be at 11 am Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in
Murphysboro. Interment will follow in Mulkeytown Cemetery. Visitation will
be from 8:30 am until the hour of services on Saturday at the funeral
home. Memorials may be made to the Mulkeytown Cemetery envelopes will be
available at the funeral home. |
