Eileen Erickson, 88 of Murphysboro,
died at 4:10 am Wednesday, March 7, 2007 in Murphysboro. Eileen was born
in Murphysboro, April 30, 1918 a daughter to the late Ross and Grace
(Jolly) Smith. She married Vincent R."Spike" Erickson in St. Louis, MO
September 19, 1942, he preceded her in death in June of 1984. Eileen was a
member of the First Presbyterian Church in Murphysboro and a member of the
St. Joseph Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a retired optometrist's
assistant for the former Charles Wolff optometrist's office in
Murphysboro. Memorial services will be at 11 am Thursday, March 15, 2007
at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro with Pastor Charles Allen
officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 until the hour of
services Thursday at the funeral home. Survivors include two daughters;
Sandra Gordon of San Diego, CA. and Patricia Wittosch of Marana, AZ., one
sister; Fern Miller of Murphysboro, two grandsons and two granddaughters;
Justin Wittosch, Scott (Lauren) Wittosch, and Jessica Gordon, Cece Gordon,
two great grandchildren, Aidan James, and D'Lanie James and one niece
Becky (David) Mifflin. In addition to her parents and husband she was
preceded in death by one son-in-law Richard Wittosch. Memorials are
encouraged and may be made to the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital Auxiliary
or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
