Donald Wayne Etherton, 79 of rural Pomona,
passed away at 12:05 pm Monday, October 27, 2008 in Carbondale with his
family by his side. Donald was born in Jackson County, Il. July 15, 1929 a
son to the late Carvel and Burnette (Minter) Etherton. He was united in
marriage with Patricia Lou Perschbacher in Paragould, Arkansas on January
27, 1948, Patricia survives of rural Pomona. Donald was a retired heavy
equipment owner/operator and worked with the Operating Engineers and was
also a retired farmer. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed
both hunting and fishing with his many friends. Donald was also a lifetime
member and Past Master of the A.F.& A.M. #840 in Alto Pass, IL. Funeral
services will be at 11am Friday October 31, 2008 at Crawshaw Funeral Home
in Murphysboro, Rev. Don Grammer will officiate. Burial will be at
Pleasant Grove Memorial Park near Murphysboro. Visitation will be Friday
from 9:30 am until the hour of the services at the funeral home. Memorials
may be made to the donor's choice. Survivors include his wife; Patricia of
rural Pomona, one son and daughter -in-law; Charles Patrick and Yong Hue'
Etherton of Fullerton, CA., one grandson; Daniel M. Etherton, of
Fullerton, CA., two granddaughters; Vanessa (Tom) Ford of East Alton, IL.,
and Amber (Brian) Fleming of Grafton, IL., five great-grandchildren; Dylan
Ford of East Alton, IL., Drake, Carlie, Eric, & Genna Fleming of Grafton,
IL., one brother; Jack Etherton of Murphysboro, one sister-in-law and her
husband; Judy and Bob Marble of Las Cruces, NM., three nieces; Shannon
Thompson of Dallas TX., Jackie Gaffney and Lorraine Bizliazzi of
Murphysboro, two nephews; Wiley C. & (Tina) Thompson, of West Point, NY.,
and Clint Etherton, of Murphysboro, one great-nephew; Noah Thompson and
one great-niece; Isabelle Thompson. In addition to his parents he was
preceded in death by one daughter; Donna Etherton Crews on August 22,
1985. |
