James Arthur Cochran, 60 of Murphysboro died
at 7:15 am Friday, March 7, 2008 in Carbondale. James was born June 23,
1947 in Murphysboro a son to Albert A. & Kathleen (Sandusky) Cochran, his
father preceded him in death September 20, 1984, his mother Kathleen
Cochran Hines survives of Murphysboro. James married Darline Moore in Polk
County, FL., February 9, 1987 Darline survives of Murphysboro. James was a
Christian by faith and was a retired coal miner at the Baldwin underground
mine and had also been a truck driver for Norman Fred Trucking in
Murphysboro and was a member of the U.M.W.A. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing
and the great outdoors. He fully expects to meet his dog "Sparky" in the
hereafter. Jim also greatly loved his family. Holidays, special occasions
and family activities were very important to him. He was generous,
kind-hearted and a genuine friend to all. Jim will be missed by all who
knew him. Services will be at 11 am Monday, March 10, 2008 in Crawshaw
Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Dr. Philip Nordstrom will officiate; burial
will follow at Murdale Gardens of Memory near Murphysboro. Visitation will
be from 5 to 8 pm Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in
Murphysboro. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the Shriners
Hospitals for Children and will be accepted at the funeral home. In
addition to his wife Darline and his mother he is survived by two daughter
and son in laws; Rebecca Lynn and Mark Malinski of Ava, and Hafiza Lisa
and Josh Dover of Murphysboro, three sons; James Arthur Cochran Jr.of
Marquand, MO., John David Cochran of Murphysboro, and Mike Angelo Flores
of Belleville, IL., three brothers and two sister in laws; Clarence Ray
and Rita Cochran of Murphysboro, Steve Albert Cochran and his close friend
Phyllis Grob of Murphysboro and Ronald William and Tracie Cochran of
Carterville, IL., nine grandchildren; Jill and Jessica Cochran, Dillion,
Elisha, Josiah, Zoe, and Genesis Malinski, and Shiloh and Kenneth Cochran. |
