Howard "Sonny" Cantrell, 62 of Murphysboro,
died at 10:11pm on Thursday, March 25, 2010 in Memorial Hospital of
Carbondale. Sonny was born in Murphysboro, IL. November 8, 1947 a son to
the late Herbert Leo and Edith (Morefield) Cantrell. He was a Christian
and was retired from Gilster Mary Lee having worked in Production at the
Perryville, MO. Plant. Sonny married Brenda Murray on June 18, 1990 in
Murphysboro, Brenda survives of Murphysboro. Cremation services have been
accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be at 12:00 Noon on
Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Sonny and Brenda's home in Murphysboro. A
graveside committal will follow at St. Johns Cemetery near Dongola, Pastor
Ruby Popejoy will officiate. In addition to his wife Brenda other
survivors include, one daughter; Tanya Jackson of Murphysboro, two sons
and one daughter-in-law; Allen Clover Jr. and his wife Carmen of
Murphysboro and Mark Killman on Mt. Vernon, IL., seven grandchildren,
three sisters; Berry Childers, Gloria Jones, and Ethel Gibson, and one
brother; Larry Cantrell, six nieces and 7 nephews also survive. He was
preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers; Herbert Cantrell,
Dale Cantrell, and Oliver House.
