Vicki J. Beavers, 56 of Murphysboro died at
9:08 am Friday, January 18, 2008 in Murphysboro. Vicki was born October 1,
1951 in Murphysboro, a daughter to Thomas A. Sr. and Sarah Juanita (Jones)
Cook. Vicki was a member of Christ Community Church in Murphysboro and was
an office systems specialist III in the V.C. Provost office at Southern
Illinois University in Carbondale. Her friends will remember Vicki's sense
of humor, her love of others, her faith in her Lord and her unfaltering
determination and how much she enjoyed playing Bunko with her group of
friends. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, January 21, 2008 at
Christ Community Church in Murphysboro, Dr. Philip Nordstrom and Rev. John
Nordstrom will officiate, burial will follow at Tower Grove Cemetery in
Murphysboro. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Sunday at Crawshaw Funeral
Home in Murphysboro and on Monday at the church from 9 to 11 am. Memorials
are encouraged and may be made to Christ Community Church Building Fund or
to Hospice of Southern Illinois; memorials will be accepted at the funeral
home or the church. Survivors include her mother; Juanita Cook of
Murphysboro, two sons and one daughter in law; Kevin and Denise Beavers,
and Ryan Beavers all of Murphysboro, one brother and sister in law; Tom
and Rita Cook of Murphysboro, two grandsons; Aaron Beavers and Dylan
Spradling, two nephews and their spouses; Garrett and Sheri Cook and Loren
and Kim Cook, two great nephews and three great nieces also survive. She
was preceded in death by her father and one infant brother Delbert Lee
Cook. |
