  Virginia Lee Bastien, 80 of Vergennes died at 3:10pm on Thursday, February 17, 2011 in Murphysboro. Virginia was born October 14, 1930 in Ora Township, Jackson County, IL. a daughter to the late Grover and Emma (Williamson) Herring. She was united in marriage to Jack Dean Bastien on June 19, 1948 in Vergennes, IL. Jack preceded her in death on June 8, 1992. Virginia was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Vergennes and was also a member of the United Methodist Women's association. Funeral services will be at 1pm on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Rev. Tena Bigham will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park near Murphysboro. Visitation will be from 10am until 1pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the Rehab & Care Center of Jackson County or to the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home. Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law; Dennis and Lisa Bastien, and Randall and Carol Bastien all of DuQuoin, five grandchildren; Nolan (Jennifer) Bastien of Indianapolis, IN., Collin Bastien of Nashville, TN., Wyatt Bastien, Annie Claire Bastien, and Grace Bastien all of DuQuoin, two great granddaughters; Avery Ann Bastien and Olivia Marie Bastien both of Indianapolis, IN., several nieces and nephews and her very special friend and caregiver; Mary Craig of Vergennes. In addition to her husband Jack she was preceded in death by two brothers; Clarence and Albert Herring, and three sisters; Lela Varnum, Inez Sherman, and Jean Boly.
