Mary Frances Andress, 86, of Murphysboro
passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 7:45 p.m. at Jackson County
Rehab and Care Center.
She was born August 29, 1923 in Pinckneyville, Illinois to Frank Holder,
Jr. and Sophia (Bowerman) Holder. She was raised by her step-father,
Oscar Qualls and Sophia (Bowerman) Qualls and all have preceded her in
death.
Mrs. Andress was wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was our "Meemaw".
She married Charles Eugene (Gene) Andress on August 30, 1941. They had
been married 58 years when he passed away in 1999.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Steve
Schemonia of Murphysboro; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Scott) Posey
of Fairview Heights, Staci (Matt) Hickam and Seth Schemonia, all of
Murphysboro; three great grandchildren, Kristin (Ben) Reiman of
Murphysboro, Taylor Ziegler and Noah Harrison of Fairview Heights;
in-laws, Carol Andress, Ralph and Alma Andress of Murphysboro, and
Pauline Wallace of Boulder, Colorado; several nephews, nieces and their
families; and long-time friends, Carolyn Lee, Floyd Reeves and Ann
Varner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband,
brother-in-law, Bill Andress and nephew, Jim Andress.
Mrs. Andress will be missed!
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and
nurses of Jackson County Rehab & Care Center and Hospice for her care.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Crawshaw
Funeral Home in Murphysboro with Matt Hickam officiating. Interment
will follow at Tower Grove Cemetery in Murphysboro. Visitation will be
from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the Diabetes Association.
